When was the last time you felt like doing something out of the box? When was the last time you did something spontaneously without thinking? When was the last time you decided to act without any plans and schedules? If your answer is close to today, you are doing it right. But if you answer is way before today, then it’s time you get out of that comfort zone and do something out of the blue. Something very different, and definitely something very impulsive.
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
– Neale Donald Walsch
What people mostly want today is to get into the corporate job: get a 9-5 desk job and earn as much money as they could and supposedly, live their life, happily. But what most people miss out is living the life. What the corporate world gives maybe tempting; because apparently, money can buy anything. But, on a condition that most people are willing to give up; life. Their comfort zone is a cubicle with a permanent job without much to worry about. They have a fixed routine; get up, do their chores, go to their work, return from work; tired and exhausted, do their chores and sleep. No excitement, no spontaneity.
When I talked to some corporate workers, the only I observed and concluded was that; they are waiting for the “right time” to enjoy life. They call it, “the old age”; which is sad. Because when you’re old, you want to settle down and watch your grandchildren grow into adults and live happily, calm life before you die. Or, at least, that’s what I always wanted.
You don’t wait for the right time, instead you make the time right.
“You only live once” or YOLO is something I see frequently around the social networking sites. Honestly, this is incorrect. You only die once, and you live as much as you want to, before you die. When you get out of the comfort zone, obviously, you will feel awkward and shy. But that is the only phase which is scary. As soon as you get through the phase, the life ahead of you will remarkable and worth every obstacle you faced.
“A ship in a harbor is safe; but that is not what ships are for.”
Getting out of your comfort zone isn’t easy; true. But is it difficult? Of course not. When you know that an entire life is ahead of you and when you know that only this action can bring you happiness, everything becomes easy and clear.
If your dreams don’t scare you, then you are not dreaming big enough.”
If you have a dream big enough for you to get out of the comfort zone, then trust me, half the work is done. All you need is courage and willingness to live by the situation.
And suddenly you realize you are comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.
